Reforms to Accredited Employer Work Visa – 17 December 2024
These include removing the median wage threshold, reducing experience requirements to 2 years and introducing new seasonal visa pathways to support employers to fill skill gaps. Read HERE

The Government announced today that Visitor visa rules are changing to open New Zealand up to digital nomads and allow tourists to work for overseas employers while visiting.Read HERE
Removal of cap for Fishing Crew Work Visa – 19 November 2024
From the 2nd of December 2024, the annual cap (940) on foreign fishing crew numbers will be removed. Employers will still be required to obtain approval in principle from Immigration New Zealand (INZ) if they wish to recruit 7 or more overseas crew members for a single vessel. Read HERE
Open work rights for partners of migrant workers – 23 October 2024
The Government is making changes to provide open work rights to more partners of migrant workers, allowing them to work for any employer. This will help families stay together, and attract and retain the workers New Zealand needs to fill gaps in sectors facing skill and labour shortages.

ANZSCO to be replaced – 8 October 2024
Statistics New Zealand will be introducing a new New Zealand classification system called the National Occupation List (NOL). The first version of the NOL will be released on 20 November 2024. Read HERE
Pathway for health professionals to nursing jobs in New Zealand – 1 October 2024
Nursing or healthcare professionals who want to work in New Zealand can apply for visas to visit and work, and must meet requirements for nursing registration and the Competence Assessment Programme (CAP). Read HERE
Longer visas for partners on New Zealanders – 1 October 2024
From 1 October 2024, the maximum visa duration for work and visitor visas for partners of New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders is increasing. The Government has made changes to the maximum duration for work and visitor visas for partners of New Zealand citizens or residence class visa holders that have been living together for at least 12 months. This is now increasing from 2 years to 3 years. Read HERE
